The hotel itself was pretty nice. The staff were by far the best part of the stay as they were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and the bed was comfy. My only criticism is that the room itself felt dated, unclean is some areas and was a hot night sleep which I found difficult. Other than that it was fantastic.
We were so happy with our stay at the Grange Court Hotel! We were greeted at the door and made to feel welcome. The room was very clean, warm and had a lovely tray with hot chocolates, biscuits and a mixture of teas. Our bed was very comfortable and clean. The garden looks like it would be great for summer stays with a big lawn and BBQ. We would definitely choose to stay here again if we are heading to the area in the future.
A great stay at a classic country hotel. Incredible breakfast and super nice staff! Attended a wedding at a venue next door, so very convenient! Loved that the owners lived on site. Truly a family affair. Thank you!
The owners of this hotel were so accommodating. My wife is gluten intolerant and they provided gluten free bread, cereal and sausages which more than we've experienced at most other hotels. They also had a fully stocked bar and the hotel itself is very close to Exeter airport.
It's a great location. I haven't posted photos of the outside of the hotel because there are already good ones online. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food, and produce is sourced locally. If you are looking for a nice, quiet stay, this would be a good choice. It is in close proximity to Exeter Airport and not too far from Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. Afternoon tea and a packed lunch service is available, but they do not do evening meals. There are a good choice of local pubs in which to eat and there is a Miller and Carter nearby.
There's only one thing stopping me from giving it five stars, and that's the beds! So, it's easy to find, set in beautiful gardens and surroundings, the owners were extremely warm and welcoming, the hotel was spotless, modern yet retaining original charms, the breakfast was simply delicious, the bar is well stocked and ideal for quite a few pleasant drinks. The rooms were first class but the bed was just so damn hard, I barely slept a wink....however, my Mrs slept like a log and found it comfortable. So it's gonna suit some and not others. But all things considered, I'd definitely stay here again!
The Grange can't seem to decide what it is, as advertising in variousplaces describes it as: Guest House Boutique Hotel B&B.. "Polished B&B" It feels a bit mean to write anything negative, as the room was warm and clean and the bed comfortable. A lovely situation with far-reaching views and nice period features in the house which could be made more of. But... So many plastic flowers indoors, random paintings, plastic table covers and tired-looking furniture in the lounge and an abandoned fridge in the garden don't really help. Clashing decor, empty water fountain, lots of notices and outdated posters for Civid social distancing made us feel we'd somehow got stuck in a time warp Fine for one night, but not for a longer stay.
Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. We had a really nice room overlooking the countryside. Our hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Would recommend a stay here.
